Sandy Litman, Executive Committee & Community Planning
Sandy has been coming to Balfour Beach since 1969 when her parents, bought their cottage. Sandy loves Balfour Beach and is dedicated to seeing it prosper as an inclusive, beautiful, sustainable and positive community.
Josh Newman, Executive Committee & Treasurer
Josh has grown up lucky enough to have enjoyed every summer at Balfour Beach. As a long standing community member, he has been an active volunteer of Camp Katonim in recent years and is now happy to be helping behind the scenes with the Balfour Beach Board and waterfront operations. More often than not, you'll find him somewhere on the water or waterskiing on the river!

Laura Walker, Executive Committee, Social & Communications
As a year round resident of Balfour, Laura and her family try their absolute best to enjoy everything the community has to offer - from the beach, to boating, ice fishing and skating! Being out and about and social with the lovely families within the community is the reason she serves on the board.
Ira Meiteen, Maintenance & Community Planning
Ira Meiteen’s family established their connection to Balfour Beach in the 1960s, and he has remained a dedicated member of the community ever since. As a child, he attended Camp Katonim throughout his youth, and over the years he has become an integral part of Balfour’s social fabric.
Shelby Firsten, Camp Katonim
Shelby has been a member of the Balfour Beach community since the day she was born. Not only have her children attended Camp Katonim, but Shelby did as well! She is committed to seeing the camp and the community thrive. You will see her beautiful family in all seasons enjoying this incredible place that they call home.
Liby Thomas, Social Committee & Communications
Liby Thomas, has been an all year round Balfour Beach resident for the past four years. He lives with his wife Trista and daughters Aria and Isla. Liby is passionate about family, outdoor activities, and supporting the growth and traditions of the Balfour Beach and Camp Katonim community.
Morris Cohen
Morris has been on the beach for 55 years and on the Board/ participant on committees for most of that time. Often referred to as the mayor of Balfour Beach, you will see Morris at all events and often roaming the community either by foot or by cart.
